As a result of Uruguay Round 2009, 3 oil companies out of the 6 that qualified (YPF, Petrobras y GALP Energy) joined in a Consortium 40%, 40%, 20% respectively and presented offers for blocks 3 and 4, both located in Punta del Este basin.
The contracts between the Consortium and ANCAP were already signed and the technical operating committees of each area have already met. YPF is the operator in area Nº3 and Petrobras is operator in area Nº4.
The work programme proposed by the operators include upload, quality control and reprocessing of the 2D seismic information licensed from CGGVeritas, application of AVO analysis and 2D trace inversion processing, depth migration, geologic and geophysic interpretation, identification of plays, leads and prospects, 3D modelling of the basin with horizons in depth and all the available data to define facies and source rock maps, evaluation of leads and prospects taking into consideration the geological risks and potential resources volumes. Conditional to the results of all these studies a 2D or 3D seismic survey will be conducted in order to densify the information over prospects and the wells design will be done.
